Court delays verdict against NGO activist

MANADO, North Sulawesi: The Manado District Court delayed for a
second time delivering a verdict in a defamation case against
non-governmental organization activist Rignolda Djamaludin.

The scheduled Monday reading was delayed because the panel of
judges had not yet completed the verdict, said presiding judge
Erna Matauseja, adding that the verdict would be delivered on
Tuesday next week.

Rignolda is charged with defamation of mining company PT
Newmont Minahasa Raya, which the activist accused of polluting
Buyat Bay in North Sulawesi. -- JP
