Courier Delivery Volumes Predicted to Rise Significantly
Indonesia’s courier delivery industry is predicted to experience significant growth as e-commerce expands and logistics demand increases across the country. Delivery volume surges are expected to accelerate particularly during peak seasons such as Ramadan and during promotional campaigns featuring date-based discounts.
Anggi Adilhady Sibuea, Division Head of Grand Operational at SiCepat, stated that robust infrastructure is essential to anticipate volume spikes. SiCepat Ekspres has strengthened its operations by inaugurating a new sorting and middle-mile facility in Kalideres, West Jakarta.
“Delivery volume surges during certain seasons will continue to increase. Therefore, this facility allows us to distribute packages more evenly and ensure that sorting and delivery processes continue running smoothly,” he explained.
According to Sibuea, the growth in delivery volumes is driven by several factors, including high demand for goods and online transactions, which could place additional strain on the logistics distribution system.
With this new facility, SiCepat aims to maintain stable delivery performance and accelerate the distribution process, given the critical importance of time in meeting customer requirements.
The new sorting facility has been designed to increase package processing capacity, accelerate distribution across regions, and ensure timely delivery even during peak volume periods.
CEO Barry Lim emphasised that this facility expansion is part of the company’s strategy to address challenges in the increasingly competitive logistics industry. “Increased delivery volumes are inevitable. We focus not only on quantity but also on maintaining service quality, particularly during periods of high demand surge,” Barry stated.
This infrastructure strengthening is expected to provide solutions for rapid logistics industry growth and enhance SiCepat’s competitive advantage in an increasingly crowded market.
With this new facility, SiCepat is prepared to support Indonesia’s growing delivery needs and provide faster and more efficient courier services to customers.
