A courier delivering a refrigerator ordered online under the name of Taufik Hidayat (30), a suspect in an assault and confinement case, has gone viral after residents were startled by the delivery. Footage shows a courier displaying a refrigerator inside a cargo vehicle, with data and the listed address suggesting it was destined for the suspect’s home. JNT Cargo courier Viki Ramdani said the incident began when he was set to deliver a package to the Tegallame area of Ciaro Village, Nagreg District, on Wednesday (24/6/2026). The refrigerator order was registered under the name Taufik Hidayat. ‘I was delivering there around 2:30 p.m. WIB. Initially, I thought there might be someone with the same name in that area, so I did not think it was the suspect Taufik. But when I looked at the address, it matched the one on the circulated ID card,’ Viki said. Viki admitted he asked his fellow courier, Yogi Ginanjar, about the location to confirm whether his colleague had ever delivered a package to the same address. ‘When I was about to deliver the package, I asked Ogi. Since his delivery area is the same as mine, I thought he might have been there before. I asked to double-check, worried there might be another Taufik besides the perpetrator. He said he did not know,’ he explained. He then decided to deliver the package to the listed address. The house was located in a small alley behind the main road. He parked his vehicle on the roadside and walked into the alley to find the address and ask local residents. ‘I asked the residents, hoping there was the other Taufik I had been thinking about. I got out of the car to ask because the item was large,’ he said. Viki explained he asked residents if there was another person named Taufik at that address. However, the residents appeared shocked because there was only one Taufik Hidayat in the village. ‘When I was looking for Taufik Hidayat, the residents were shocked and thought I was an intelligence officer disguised as a courier. They said Taufik had already been arrested recently. I replied that I was not there to make an arrest, I just wanted to deliver a package. The residents said there was only one Taufik,’ he recounted. He mentioned that Taufik’s house was empty and uninhabited, according to the residents, following the criminal incident. ‘They said the house has been empty since the incident. Since the package was cash-on-delivery worth Rp 1.6 million, I just went back to the car,’ he explained. ‘I did not go up to the house. I just took photos of the surroundings for the return process. Also, the package in the application did not have a contact number listed, unlike other packages, so there was no recipient number to call,’ he added.
