Bekasi – Samuel Pasaribu, a neighbour of an elderly couple with initials EU (65) and PW (60) who were allegedly victims of armed robbery at Prima Lingkar Asri Housing Complex Block B4 No 14, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, revealed that the couple’s second daughter, identified as DNA, had run to a mosque in the early morning of Monday, 2 March 2026, to seek help from residents.

“The daughter ran to the mosque to call for help from the residents. Once people gathered here, I went outside. After that, I immediately looked inside,” Samuel told the media at the location on Monday.

Samuel stated he had not heard any commotion or suspicious activity during the robbery.

“I didn’t hear anything. There was no noise. The daughter also didn’t hear anything, and came downstairs because she wanted to have the pre-dawn meal,” he said.

Samuel said he had entered the victims’ home and saw that EU and PW were still alive. However, EU eventually died after receiving treatment at the hospital.

“They were treated at the hospital, but unfortunately could not be saved,” Samuel explained.

Meanwhile, PW has continued undergoing intensive care after undergoing surgery. “The wife is still alive until now; she had surgery earlier. The victims were taken to the hospital by residents, family members, and their children,” Samuel said.

While inside the victims’ home, Samuel also observed injuries on their bodies. Samuel noted that the residential complex had previously been considered secure due to its single-gate security system.

“Perhaps this turned out to be a loophole,” he remarked.

Following the incident, Samuel expressed concern and planned to propose raising the boundary fence facing Kalimalang Road.
