Couple in West Jakarta Transforms Luxury Townhouse into Narcotics Lab

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have uncovered a clandestine lab producing category II etomidate narcotics in vape cartridges at a townhouse in West Jakarta,” said AKBP Ade Candra, Subdirector of Unit 3 at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate, in a statement on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

During the raid, police discovered 369 e-cigarette cartridges containing the hard drug etomidate at the scene. Additionally, various production equipment was found, including gallons and jerrycans filled with liquid, measuring cups, syringes, and a pressing machine.

“At the scene, we also seized production equipment and raw materials totalling 25,000ml, capable of producing 25,000 vape cartridges containing etomidate narcotics. Thousands of empty packaging and cartridges were also found ready for use,” he explained.

The suspects and evidence have been taken to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate office for further investigation. Investigators are continuing to delve deeper into the case.
