Couple faces six month jail sentence

JAMBI: Two people, Hasanuddin alias Ambo and partner Asropah, are facing a possible six-month jail term each for trafficking 1.03 kilograms of marijuana in the city last September.

Prosecutor Esther Nababan said in the Jambi district court on Monday that the couple was caught red-handed trying to sell the banned substance to customers, and their actions were against Law No. 22/1997 on psychotropic drugs.

"They sold the banned substance for between Rp 80,000 and Rp 150,000," she said

The trial was adjourned until next Monday to hear the defense arguments. --Antara
