Couple die in traffic accident

JAKARTA (JP): A young man and his lover died in a traffic accident in North Jakarta Sunday afternoon.

The man, Yosneal Feriston Radja, 24, and Yusnelli, 19, fell from the motorcycle they were riding at high speed on Jl. Yos Sudarso.

Witnesses said the couple could not control the motorcycle when it skidded and hit the side walk.

The accident attracted the attention of people celebrating Indonesia's 52th Independence Day at the nearby North Jakarta Mayoralty office.

Yusnelli died on the spot, while Yosneal died on the way to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital.

Etanof, one of Yusneli's relatives, said that the couple had just attended independence day celebrations at PT Astra International, where Yosneal worked.

The couple were planning to get married next year, Etanof said. (27)
