Couple Attacked by Unidentified Thugs in Bekasi with Blunt Force Injuries
Police are still investigating an attack on a married couple in Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi, West Java. Both victims, EP (65) and P (60), suffered head wounds believed to have been caused by blunt force objects.
“All the wounds are blunt force trauma to the head, at the back of the head. However, we are still awaiting official results from the hospital,” said Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Head Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal to journalists on Monday (2/3/2026).
Several items belonging to the victims were also reported missing. Police are currently investigating the identities of those responsible for the attack and robbery.
“Yes, we are still investigating,” he explained.
The couple’s house in Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi, West Java, was allegedly targeted in the robbery. The male resident, initials EU (65), died at the scene, whilst his wife, P (60), sustained serious injuries.
Kompol Andi Muhammad said both victims were first discovered by their daughter. He stated the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning before dawn prayers.
The daughter’s bedroom was located on the second floor of the house, whilst both victims were on the ground floor. Usually, a domestic helper lived with them, but was away at the time of the incident.
“The discovery occurred because the daughter is normally woken by her mother to prepare food and other things for dawn prayers,” he explained.
However, at around 4:00 AM, no one came to wake her. So the daughter went downstairs and found her parents had become victims of the suspected robbery.
