Couple Arrested for Drug Trafficking While Together in Mataram Boarding Room
A couple who were drug dealers were arrested by police while together in a boarding room in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). They are identified as the man with the initials IS (37) and DN (25).
“We secured both of them inside the boarding room,” said the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Mataram City Police, AKP Remanto, on Sunday (5/7/2026).
Remanto revealed that IS is a resident of Perampuan Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok, NTB. Meanwhile, DN is a resident of West Java (Jabar).
The arrest of IS and DN stemmed from a public report. The report revealed that the suspects’ boarding house was frequently used as a place for crystal methamphetamine transactions.
Police then conducted an investigation. The couple were finally arrested by police on Saturday (4/7/2026).
During a search of the boarding room, police found evidence including a glass pipe containing crystal methamphetamine, IDR 495,000 in cash, scissors, a lighter, empty plastic clips, and a mobile phone.
Police then continued the search at IS’s house in Perampuan Village. There, police found four packages of crystal methamphetamine and IDR 22 million in cash suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
“The gross weight of the crystal methamphetamine we secured is 45.04 grammes,” Remanto stated.
Preliminary interrogation results indicate that both were drug dealers operating in Mataram. Police are still investigating IS and DN, including the suspected involvement of other parties.
