A video showing a couple allegedly engaging in indecent behaviour at the Taman Layang Ciracas area in East Jakarta has gone viral on social media. DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) chief Satriadi Gunawan confirmed that his agency has been conducting patrols at various locations.

As seen by detikcom on Instagram on Wednesday (18 February 2026), the footage appeared to show two individuals allegedly committing an indecent act at Taman Layang Ciracas on Jalan Raya Pengantin Ali, Ciracas, East Jakarta. The incident in the circulating video occurred during daylight hours.

Satriadi Gunawan stressed that parks are public spaces that must be collectively maintained and are not intended for indecent activities. He acknowledged that his agency had not yet received any formal reports or direct monitoring results regarding the incident.

“We haven’t monitored that yet. Parks are meant to be public spaces, not for indecent acts. So our advice is that we should all work together to look after these facilities,” Satriadi told reporters in the Cengkareng area of West Jakarta on Wednesday (18 February 2026).

Satriadi said that surveillance of parks across Jakarta continues to be carried out by officers. Monitoring is conducted routinely to prevent the misuse of public spaces and activities that disturb residents.

When asked whether park surveillance is conducted around the clock, he confirmed that patrols and security measures remain in place.

“Oh yes, we do monitor 24 hours. Like the recent case in West Jakarta involving LGBT-related issues — we’re still maintaining a presence there to this day,” he said.

He also urged the public to help maintain order and the proper function of open public spaces. Residents were asked to report any activities that violate social norms or disrupt comfort at public facilities.
