Councillors' performance
Councillors' performance
From Warta Kota
Although the councillors in Jakarta have been given an official car each, they have not improved their performance as they had vowed. So far 10 of those cars have undergone repairs because of collision or other reasons.
The councillors had insisted that the cars were necessary to support their work. But if you observe the council's parking lot, you will notice that not all the official cars are there.
So the question is: Where are those cars? Moreover the cars' license plates, which were once red, have been changed to black, without consent from the authorities. (Note: official cars have a red license plate and private cars have a black license plate)
So, I suggest the councillors restore the cars' original license plates. If they are ashamed of using the red license plates, they should return the cars.
The councillors must remember that they should be setting a good example to the public, and not breaching the law.
Even more frustrating is the fact that some councillors seldom attend the council meetings or even plenary sessions, and they are not rebuked for their truancy.
We strongly hope that in future councillors behave more professionally because all the facilities they need for their work have been provided.
