Councillor reports mayor to KPK

AKARTA: Rusman, a member of the Bengkulu Municipal Council
who was named a suspect in a libel case against Mayor Chalid
Effendi, presented evidence on graft cases in the local
administration to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)
here on Monday.

One of the cases involves the alleged misuse of Rp 2.2 billion
for education projects carried out by the municipal
administration, Rusman said.

The councillor, along with an activist from the Legal Aid
Office, was charged with libel by the Bengkulu Police after
publicly accusing the mayor of involvement in corruption. --JP
