Councillor Aziz Boeang passes away

JAKARTA: Councillor Aziz Boeang of the Indonesian Democratic
Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) passed away on Wednesday at
the Pertamina hospital in South Jakarta.

The 70-year-old Aziz, a member of the Council's budget
commission, had been receiving treatment for nearly a month at
the hospital following a heart attack, as well as diabetes and
hepatitis.

Azis, who conducted a haj pilgrimage last month, was survived
by his wife and eight children.

The councillor, a resident of Jl. Biduri Bulan, East Jakarta,
will be buried on Thursday in the nearby Pisangan public
cemetery. -- JP
