Costello to meet RI minister

CANBERRA (Dow Jones): Australian Treasurer Peter Costello will travel to Indonesia later Wednesday to meet with key Indonesian ministers before traveling on to Brunei for a meeting of finance ministers from countries in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation group.

"The visit to Jakarta provides an important opportunity to strengthen Australian contacts with members of the new cabinet and revamped economic team announced by (Indonesian) President Wahid on Aug. 23," he said in a statement..

Once in Brunei, the treasurer said he plans to meet with his counterparts from the U.S., Japan, China and Canada to discuss "recent economic developments and plans for structural reform."
