JAKARTA – With increasing interest in electric cars, maintenance and battery replacement costs remain a primary concern for consumers. This is understandable, given that the battery is one of the most expensive components in electrified vehicles.

Jaecoo, one of the brands entering the Indonesian market, has provided insights into repair and battery replacement costs for its product line.

Head of Marketing for Jaecoo Indonesia, Mohammad Ilham Pratama, stated that battery costs vary depending on capacity and vehicle type.

He added that the prices exclude value-added tax (VAT). Additionally, battery replacement must be carried out as a complete pack, not per module.

In terms of processing time, battery replacement is relatively quick.

“Replacement takes around three hours,” Ilham said.

Furthermore, Ilham explained that the electric car system in Jaecoo vehicles is equipped with indicators to detect potential battery damage. If an issue arises, a warning will appear on the vehicle’s instrument panel.

“Usually, if the battery is damaged, an indicator will light up and a reminder will appear,” he said.

With this cost transparency, it is hoped that consumers will have a clearer picture of electric vehicle ownership costs, particularly regarding maintenance and battery replacement.
