Cost of Full Tank Fill-Up for GWM Tank 300 Diesel Exceeds Rp 2.4 Million

JAKARTA — Shell petrol stations have begun distributing Shell V-Power Diesel in several regions. However, the price of this “shell” branded diesel is now sold at Rp 30,890 per litre as of 10 May 2026.

As an illustration, in March 2026, the price of Shell V-Power Diesel was still at Rp 14,620 per litre. This means there has been an increase of around Rp 16,270 per litre within two months.

This price surge has also pulled up the operational costs of diesel cars. One of the affected models is the GWM Tank 300 Diesel, which has a fuel tank capacity of 78 litres.

If filled completely using Shell V-Power Diesel at the latest price, owners of the Tank 300 Diesel now need to prepare funds of around Rp 2,409,420 for a single full tank.

In fact, in March 2026, the full tank fill-up cost for the Tank 300 Diesel was only around Rp 1,140,360. Thus, there is a difference in increase of around Rp 1,269,060 for a single full fill-up.

For comparison, several other petrol stations are also selling diesel fuel at high prices, although some have started making adjustments, including Pertamina’s non-subsidised fuel.

Meanwhile, Vivo Energy Indonesia sells Diesel Primus Plus for Rp 30,890 per litre. This means the full tank fill-up cost for the Tank 300 Diesel also reaches around Rp 2,409,420, the same as using Shell V-Power Diesel.

On the other hand, Pertamina’s non-subsidised diesel products have also experienced a price increase recently.

Pertamina Dex has risen to Rp 23,900 per litre from the previous Rp 14,500 per litre. For a single full tank of the Tank 300 Diesel, consumers need to spend around Rp 1,864,200.

This price increase in diesel fuel makes the cost of using diesel SUVs more expensive, especially for users with high mobility or those who routinely take long-distance trips.
