Cost of Full Tank Diesel Fill-Up for Fortuner Reaches Rp 2.4 Million

JAKARTA – The return to operations of Shell Indonesia’s fuel stations is accompanied by the reappearance of Shell V-Power Diesel products in several regions. However, the price of this premium diesel fuel has now surged sharply to Rp 30,890 per litre as of 10 May 2026. For context, in March 2026, the price of Shell V-Power Diesel was still at Rp 14,620 per litre. This means an increase of around Rp 16,270 per litre over two months. If filled completely using Shell V-Power Diesel at the latest price, Fortuner owners now need to prepare funds of around Rp 2,471,200 for a single full tank. In contrast, in March 2026, the cost of a full tank fill-up for a Fortuner was only around Rp 1,169,600. Thus, there is a price difference increase of around Rp 1,301,600 for a single full fill-up. For comparison, several other fuel stations are also selling diesel fuel at high prices, although some have begun making adjustments, including Pertamina’s non-subsidised fuel. For instance, BP Indonesia has reduced the price of BP Ultimate Diesel to Rp 29,890 per litre starting from 8 May 2026. At that price, the full tank cost for a Fortuner reaches around Rp 2,391,200. On the other hand, Pertamina’s non-subsidised diesel product has also experienced a price increase recently. Dexlite is now sold at Rp 23,600 per litre, up from Rp 14,200 per litre previously. If used to fill a Fortuner completely, the required funds amount to around Rp 1,888,000.
