Corruptors' Idle Funds Worth Rp 39 Trillion, Prabowo: Perhaps He Has Many Wives
President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that the government will receive unexpected funds from the tracing of idle bank accounts conducted by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK). According to Prabowo, these corruptors’ funds are lying dormant in bank accounts. He suspects that the owners have fled abroad and left the money behind due to having too many young wives. “Perhaps he has many young wives or mistresses who act as his wives, so his wives and mistresses do not know about those funds,” Prabowo said at the Handover of Administrative Fines and Forest Area Land at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). The total value of the idle funds from these corruptors and criminals is Rp 39 trillion. “I also received a report that there are approximately Rp 39 trillion in unclear funds; the corruptors or criminals might have fled Indonesia or died, leaving their money in obscure accounts,” Prabowo explained. According to Prabowo, these funds will be taken over by the state for national development and public welfare, and will be announced to the public next month alongside the handover of Rp 10 trillion from administrative fines and forest land reclamation by the PKH Task Force. “It has been unmanaged for years and announced repeatedly, so transfer it to the people. Thus, next month there will be approximately Rp 49 trillion,” he stated.
