JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The trial for alleged extortion in the processing of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certificates at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) resumed on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) revealed flows of non-technical fees reportedly originating from K3 service companies (PJK3).

The defendant, Director of Institutional Development, Hery Sutanto, denied ever directing such practices.

“I never gathered or directed the receipt of those non-technical fees,” said Hery Sutanto during the trial.

“But everything ran as it had before,” he added.

He also admitted to receiving those non-technical money flows and said part of it was passed on to superiors.

“And I did receive the non-technical money, and if there were any deposits, I also passed them on to the leadership,” he explained.

However, he emphasised that he never directly directed the receipt of such funds.

“I never directed that if, for example, we directed towards tasks, but if it’s technical, thank-yous are all blessings if received, to be shared,” he stated.

“I never knew what it was for, how much, or the holding accounts—I didn’t know,” he said.

He disclosed the usual amount of money received each month.

“Usually, I receive Rp20 million or Rp30 million per month,” he explained.

According to him, the amount increased at certain times.
