The KPK has issued a termination of investigation letter (SP3) for the suspect in the alleged corruption case involving metal anode processing cooperation, PT Loco Montrado (LM) President Director Siman Bahar, who died in China. The SP3 was issued after the KPK received an official death certificate for Siman Bahar. “On 23 April 2026, the KPK issued the termination of investigation letter (SP3) for Suspect SB. The SP3 was issued after investigators obtained an official certificate stating that Mr SB had passed away,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Saturday (25/4/2026). Budi stated that the SP3 issued by the KPK has also been conveyed to Siman Bahar’s family. The KPK had previously announced that Siman Bahar passed away on Monday (13/4). Siman died while receiving treatment in China. “Because of this, we are trying to update why he went to China, but as of today, we can confirm the information about his death; we just need the administration,” said Acting Director of Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday (13/4). In this case, the KPK has designated PT Loco Montrado President Director Siman Bahar (SB) as a suspect. Siman is charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code. In 2025, the KPK seized cash amounting to Rp 100.7 billion from Siman Bahar. The money is suspected to have been obtained from corruption proceeds. Before Siman, the KPK had already processed a former Antam official named Dody Martimbang. He was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison in the corruption case that caused state losses of Rp 100.7 billion. Most recently, the KPK announced PT Loco Montrado (LCM) as a suspect in the metal anode processing corruption at PT Antam Tbk. The company was designated as a corporate suspect in this case.
