The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is preparing a Termination of Investigation Order (SP3) against the suspect in the alleged corruption case of metal anode processing cooperation, President Director of PT Loco Montrado (LM), Siman Bahar. This follows information that Siman Bahar has passed away in another country.

“We can confirm the information about his death as of today; we just need the administration,” said Acting Director of Investigation at KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, during a press conference at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026) evening.

He stated that the SP3 will be issued after KPK verifies the truth of Siman Bahar’s death. For that, they need a death certificate.

“Of course, this is for the sake of the law; if a suspect has passed away, an SP3 is definite. But we need the administration, which we are currently checking,” he said.

In this case, KPK has designated the President Director of PT Loco Montrado, Siman Bahar (SB), as a suspect. Siman is charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of the Law on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.

In 2025, KPK seized cash amounting to Rp 100.7 billion from Siman Bahar. The money is suspected to have been obtained from corruption proceeds.

Before Siman, KPK had already processed a former Antam official named Dody Martimbang. He was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison in the corruption case that caused state losses of Rp 100.7 billion.

Most recently, KPK announced PT Loco Montrado (LCM) as a suspect in the metal anode processing corruption at PT Antam Tbk. The company was designated as a corporate suspect in this case.
