From 11:00 WIB to 17:45 WIB, 26 questions were posed during the initial examination of Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang (HT), who is currently a suspect in an alleged corruption case.

“The examination of Sitti Husniah took place from 11:00 WIB until 17:45 WIB, involving 26 questions,” stated the Head of the National Police Corruption Eradication Unit (Kortastipidkor), Kombes Pol. Yusuf Afandi, in Jakarta on Thursday.

Regarding the specific details of the interrogation, Yusuf did not disclose them. He also noted that Sitti Husniah would not be detained despite being interrogated as a suspect, as per the regulations set out in the Law on Regional Government.

Separately, Sitti Husniah’s legal counsel, Adhi Bintang, stated that his client’s presence at today’s examination was a demonstration of cooperation with the investigation process.

“Our presence is a form of cooperation; it does not imply an admission of the allegations. We will certainly challenge these claims in the subsequent stages of the process,” he said.

The National Police Corruption Eradication Unit named Sitti Husniah a suspect in a corruption case involving alleged extortion and money laundering (TPPU) related to the processing of Building Approval (PBG) and other permits in the Gowa region, South Sulawesi.

The Director of Enforcement at the National Police Corruption Eradication Unit, Brigjen Pol. Roberthus Yohannes De Deo Tresna Eka Trimana, revealed that there are four clusters of alleged extortion incidents carried out by Sitti Husniah. The identified or tracked amount of money currently stands at a total of Rp1.1 billion.

“This includes a request for a 70 per cent discount on house ownership. This is what we have been able to trace or find during the investigation process so far,” he said.

He added that the victims of the extortion in this case include housing developers and representatives from Indomaret.

“Based on the identification carried out, the victims include housing developers and parties from Indomaret,” he concluded.
