Corruption Eradication Commission Arrests Rejang Lebong Regent in Sting Operation

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Muhammad Fikri Thobari, the regent of Rejang Lebong in Bengkulu Province, in a sting operation (operasi tangkap tangan/OTT) conducted on Monday, 9 March 2026, in the evening.

“Confirmed, the Rejang Lebong regent,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

However, Fitroh has not yet disclosed the identities of other individuals apprehended in the covert operation. According to information gathered, those arrested in the sting operation are scheduled to be brought to Jakarta on the same day.

The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of all individuals arrested in this operation.
