The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections in Southeast Sulawesi (Kanwil Ditjenpas Sultra) has transferred a convict who became viral for being caught lounging at a coffee shop in the former MTQ area of Kendari. The convict, named Supriadi, has been moved to Nusakambangan Prison as a form of punishment.

The Head of Kanwil Ditjenpas Sultra, Sulardi, confirmed the transfer of the inmate in the corruption case (tipikor) named Supriadi to Nusakambangan in Cilacap Regency, Central Java. “He has already arrived at NK (Nusakambangan),” said Sulardi when contacted in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

The Head of Class IIA Kendari Penitentiary, Mukhtar, explained that his facility received the transfer of the inmate on the very day he was at the coffee shop. “After the viral incident, the inmate was immediately escorted from the detention centre to Kendari Penitentiary after Maghrib on Tuesday (14/4/2026),” said Mukhtar.

He revealed that upon arrival at Kendari Penitentiary, officers immediately took action by placing Supriadi in an isolation cell for security. Following instructions from superiors, Mukhtar explained, officers departed with the corruption convict to Nusakambangan Penitentiary on Thursday morning WITA.

“One of the actions we take against inmates who commit serious violations, there are already consequences like that, we follow the instructions from leadership on how to implement it,” Mukhtar clarified.
