The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has moved swiftly to investigate allegations of corruption against Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari following a sting operation. During the operation, investigators secured various pieces of evidence including strategic documents, electronic records, and cash in rupiah.

“In this sting operation, the team not only secured a number of individuals but also secured evidence, including documents, electronic evidence, and cash,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March).

Prasetyo explained that the seized cash consists of rupiah currency. However, the exact amount will be disclosed in detail during the next press conference.

In total, the KPK arrested 13 individuals in this operation. Of these, nine have been transferred to Jakarta for further investigation at the anti-corruption agency’s headquarters.

“The individuals are currently undergoing intensive questioning. We will provide a complete update regarding the chronology, structure, and legal status of those secured,” Prasetyo explained.

According to regulations, the KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of individuals caught in a sting operation. The official announcement regarding suspect status and case details will be made through an official press conference at the Red and White Building.
