Corruption Case in Advertising Procurement: KPK Still Probing Ridwan Kamil's Role

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is continuing to probe the alleged corruption case in advertising procurement. The current focus of the investigation is on deepening the role of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK).

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that the investigative team is still working to clarify the legal position of the related parties in this case. “Yes, perhaps the investigators are first confirming the status and so on,” Setyo said at the KPK Building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Setyo emphasised that the KPK leadership is giving full leeway to the investigators without intervention to thoroughly pursue the case. At present, the legal process is focused on examining various documents, including financial data and witness statements.

“It is being reviewed, being studied—what is there from the data, financial documents, and so on,” Setyo added.

Previously, Ridwan Kamil had complied with the KPK summons on Tuesday, 2 November 2025. On that occasion, he firmly denied his involvement in the advertising procurement corruption practices or receiving any flow of funds from the case.

“If asked whether I knew, I did not know. Let alone being involved, enjoying the proceeds, and so on,” RK said at the Merah Putih Building of the KPK at that time.

RK explained that although the position of West Java Governor has a supervisory function over Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD), technically corporate actions are only known to regional leaders if there is an official report.

To date, the KPK is still gathering additional evidence to determine the next legal status in the case that harms state finances.

The KPK is probing the alleged corruption case in advertising procurement using the modus operandi of flag lending. Two witnesses were examined to uncover the involved parties, including the flow of funds related to BUMD.

The KPK is currently deepening the involvement of several parties suspected of participating in overseas activities conducted by Ridwan Kamil during his tenure as West Java Governor.

In this case, the KPK is also probing several foreign currency exchanges. Investigators suspect the transactions are related to the case due to disguises.

The KPK summoned influencer Lisa Mariana (LM) for questioning related to the alleged corruption in advertising procurement at PT Bank BJB.
