Corruption case handling continues after Jampidsus resignation

Junior Attorney General for Oversight (Jamwas) Rudi Margono has confirmed that the handling of corruption cases will continue following the resignation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin appointed Rudi Margono as acting Jampidsus, effective Saturday. Speaking at a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office, Rudi stated he would gather all special crimes prosecutors and the special crimes secretary to ensure corruption case handling proceeds smoothly. He emphasised that law enforcement efforts would continue, with the priority being the case involving the former Jampidsus himself, which was recently transferred by the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps. Rudi added that asset recovery in corruption cases remains a key focus. He said he was only informed of his appointment as acting Jampidsus in the early hours of Saturday, describing the role as a mandate from God through the Attorney General to carry out managerial duties within the special crimes division.
