Corruption case at PT Jamsostek
Corruption case at PT Jamsostek
From Media Indonesia
It was reported some time ago in the print and electronic media that the president director of PT Jamsostek, Ahmad Djunaidi, and the company's directors of investment and finance were suspects in an alleged corruption case worth over Rp 23 billion in this particular company. This case was concerned with the payment of compensation for land in Jl. Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, now the site of Menara Jamsostek building.
An audit conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) revealed the alleged corruption. The Jakarta Police later followed up this finding. This was then widely reported in Jakarta-based print and electronic media. Strangely, nothing has been heard of this case any more.
We all know that the president director of PT Jamsostek has always acted firmly with subordinates involved in corruption. Many have been dismissed and tried in court. Therefore, it is a pity that this corruption case in which the top men in PT Jamsostek are allegedly involved seems to have been shelved. It will be ironical if it is proven that the broom that sweeps away corruption is tainted with corruption.
It is many people's hope, therefore, that the police can proceed with this alleged corruption case. Otherwise, there will be suspicion that this case has been shelved at the request of someone at the top just because the president director of PT Jamsostek is from South Sumatra.
I trust Megawati will be firm against corruption, collusion and nepotism.
