Corruption Assets of Bagek Polak Village Head Returned to West Lombok Regency Government

The Mataram District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) returned assets that served as evidence in a corruption case involving customary land (tanah pecatu) which implicated the Head of Bagek Polak Village, Amir Amraen Putra, on Wednesday (5/8/2026). Mataram Chief Prosecutor Gde Made Pasek Swardhyana stated that the 39-are plot of land located in Bagek Polak Village, Labuapi District, has now been returned to the West Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab). ‘We have returned the asset and several related documents. The area is 39 are,’ he said on Wednesday. Made explained that the corruption case concerning the customary land has permanent legal force (inkrah). However, one legal process at the cassation level remains, which is unrelated to the evidence. ‘The case is concluded. There is just one process at cassation, but it does not concern the evidence,’ he clarified. According to Made, although the value of the returned asset is not particularly large, the return is expected to serve as a lesson for government officials to refrain from misusing state or regional assets. ‘Even though the value is small, it serves as a lesson for others not to misuse assets,’ he stressed. Meanwhile, West Lombok Vice Regent Nurul Adha stated that the land would be utilised by leasing it out to increase the region’s Original Local Government Revenue (PAD). ‘There is already a party waiting to lease it, and it will become PAD,’ he explained. Adha also expressed hope that the Mataram District Attorney’s Office would continue to provide legal assistance to the West Lombok Regency Government, not only regarding asset issues but also for other government programmes and policies. ‘Not just on asset matters, but we also hope for legal assistance in other areas. So that the results are safe and straightforward,’ he asserted. The case began when the Head of Bagek Polak Village, Amir Amraen Putra, was suspected of seizing 39 acres of customary land belonging to the West Lombok Regency Government. In the case, Amir was sentenced to two years in prison by the Mataram Corruption Court after being found guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption. Meanwhile, another suspect, former West Lombok National Land Agency (BPN) official Baiq Mahyuniati Fitria, was acquitted by the Mataram Corruption Court. The judges deemed that the prosecutors could not prove her involvement in the case.
