“If we look at that small screen, it is sufficient to scan their iris, so there is no longer a need to present passports. The process has become very fast. Thus, a digital ecosystem has been implemented by the Immigration authorities,” said Khofifah in a video received on Tuesday (2/6/2026).

It is noted that the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services (Ditjenim Kemenimipas) is implementing the Corridor Gate service during the Hajj season. This service has been available at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) since last year, and this year it has been newly introduced at Juanda International Airport.

“We certainly express our gratitude that day by day, public services to the community, especially to the Hajj pilgrims today, are providing ease and acceleration of service. Naturally, the atmosphere becomes more convenient for them,” Khofifah stated.

Khofifah noted that Hajj pilgrims are understandably exhausted after completing their series of religious rites and enduring long-haul flights from Saudi Arabia to the homeland. Therefore, the Corridor Gate is highly beneficial.

“They have completed a long journey and are relatively tired. However, through the immigration process, they only need to look at a small screen, which is sufficient for identification, and their passports no longer require stamping. I want to convey that all these efforts are undertaken to maximise public service while maintaining the principle of prudence,” said the former Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs.

She further emphasised her gratitude to the Indonesian Immigration Department for introducing the Corridor Gate. “We express our thanks to Immigration for building synergy in providing ease of service for Hajj pilgrims,” she concluded.
