The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) provided free health examination services to the public in the vicinity of the Class II A Cibinong Correctional Institution (Lapas) in West Java.

The free health checks, held to mark the 62nd Correctional Service Day, involved 5,000 people from the surrounding area of Cibinong Prison.

Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Agus Andrianto, directly monitored the implementation of the event and ensured it proceeded smoothly as expected.

Agus stated that the activity is part of the government’s commitment to delivering a more humane correctional system that directly impacts society.

“We want to ensure that the presence of the Correctional Service not only focuses on the development of inmates but also provides tangible contributions to the wider community,” said Agus in his statement on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

Through this event, Agus hopes to bring benefits to the community and strengthen relations between correctional institutions.

“We hope to help improve the quality of health and welfare of the community as well as strengthen the relationship between correctional institutions and the surrounding environment,” he said.

Separately, the Head of Cibinong Prison, Wisnu Hani Putranto, felt honoured by Kemenimipas’s trust in making Cibinong the host of the large-scale event.

The event represents a concrete form of Kemenimipas’s concern for the community, particularly in improving access to health services and assisting the social needs of residents in the Cibinong Subdistrict area.

Attendees at the event included the Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Bogor Regency, senior officials from the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, directors from the Directorate General of Corrections, the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections for West Java, Special Capital Region of Jakarta, and Banten, as well as heads of correctional and immigration units across West Java.

“We feel honoured to be trusted as the host for the 62nd Correctional Service Day event,” he said.

“May this event provide broad benefits to the community and strengthen the role of the prison as part of a correctional system that is caring and responsive to social needs,” Wisnu added.

The 62nd Correctional Service Day event included free health examination services, distribution of social assistance, and various other forms of public services aimed at improving community welfare.
