Corporate Qurbani activities are no longer merely seen as annual donation exercises. Companies are increasingly integrating these initiatives into a humanistic approach to foster closer community ties around their operational areas. This is evident in PT Hankook Tire Indonesia’s distribution of sacrificial animals to Cicau Village in Cikarang Pusat, Bekasi — the area surrounding its factory — ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. This year, the company delivered a total of 3.5 tonnes of animals, comprising eight cows and six goats. The donations were channelled through the village government and local mosque authorities for community distribution, with one cow also donated to a mosque within the Ministry of Trade. The symbolic donation handover was conducted by Hankook Tire Indonesia’s President Director, Jung Jinkyun, to Cicau Village Head Maman Fahlevi. Beyond the donation, company employees actively participated in the slaughter and distribution process, part of the company’s effort to build closer personal relationships with local residents. Spirit of Togetherness Hankook Tire Indonesia’s President Director, Jung Jinkyun, stated the company aims to maintain togetherness with communities around its operational areas. He added the company will continue implementing sustainable social initiatives to foster positive community relations. “Through this initiative, we are committed to strengthening ties with surrounding communities and sharing joy during Eid al-Adha celebrations. As a company operating in Indonesia and growing alongside the community, we pledge to uphold togetherness and support the welfare of those near our operational sites,” he said. Appreciation Meanwhile, Cicau Village Head Maman Fahlevi praised the company’s consistent contributions to the local community. “We thank PT Hankook Tire Indonesia for its consistent support to Cicau Village. This initiative not only empowers the community during Eid al-Adha but also strengthens the relationship between the company and residents,” he said. Since commencing operations in Indonesia in 2013, Hankook Tire Indonesia has actively implemented various social programmes in the surrounding factory area as part of its commitment to building long-term community relationships. This approach is increasingly vital as companies seek to build more inclusive and sustainable social relationships with local communities, not only through business operations but also through direct involvement in community activities.
