Coronary Heart Disease Remains Top Killer, Experts Warn of Dangers

The Indonesian Ministry of Health has recorded cardiovascular disease as one of the highest causes of mortality in Indonesia, with 500,000 deaths per year. Amidst the growing threat of heart disease, the presence of integrated heart hospitals offers hope for the treatment and recovery of cardiovascular patients in Indonesia. Hospital Director of Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital, Faris Basalamah, stated that Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital was established as a specialised cardiac hospital and served approximately 12,000 patients in 2025. Currently, the hospital’s services focus on two main areas: medical support services and medical services capable of handling all heart disease-related procedures. Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital noted that coronary heart disease and stroke are the most frequently encountered cases, caused by negligence towards risk factors such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
