Coordination with BPJS Kesehatan Ensures All Denpasar Residents Protected by JKN

The Denpasar City Government is taking strategic steps to ensure that the entire community remains protected under the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN). One of the efforts involves funding 24,401 residents of Denpasar City who are participants in the JKN Penerima Bantuan Iuran Jaminan Kesehatan (PBI-JK) segment, which was deactivated based on Ministerial Decree Number 3/HUK/2026, effective from 1 February 2026.

Denpasar Mayor I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara stated that the City Government will immediately coordinate with BPJS Kesehatan to ensure the community can access healthcare services. He affirmed that the Denpasar City Government is prepared to fund 24,401 participants in the deactivated JKN PBI-JK segment, so that the community remains protected under the JKN Programme.

“We from the Denpasar City Government will immediately coordinate with BPJS Kesehatan to reactivate the participation of the deactivated community. This step is to prevent the community that truly needs healthcare services but is constrained by inactive membership status,” explained Jaya Negara.

According to him, his side is fully committed to guaranteeing the continuity of the JKN Programme, including by preparing a budget of Rp62 billion to ensure JKN membership funding for one year. At the event, he was accompanied by the Head of the Denpasar City Social Service, I Gusti Ayu Laxmy Saraswati, the Head of the Denpasar City Population and Civil Registration Service, I Dewa Gede Juli Artabrata, and the Head of the Denpasar City Health Service, dr. Anak Agung Ayu Agung Candrawati.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BPJS Kesehatan Denpasar Branch, Nyoman Wiwiek Yuliadewi, expressed appreciation for the full commitment of the Denpasar City Government in overseeing the programme and ensuring the continuity of health insurance protection for the community.

“We hope that the entire Denpasar community is protected and has health service guarantees. Through the JKN Programme, it is hoped that the community can obtain easy, quick, and equitable healthcare services, thereby supporting the realisation of a healthy and prosperous society,” stated Wiwiek.

Wiwiek also urged the community to regularly ensure that their JKN membership status remains active. Participants can access various non-face-to-face service channels such as Administrative Services via Whatsapp (PANDAWA) at 08118165165, BPJS Kesehatan Care Center 165, and the Mobile JKN Application.
