Coordinating with KPK, Purbaya Already Knows Identity of Finance Ministry Official Linked to Alleged Gratification
Jakarta, VIVA – The Ministry of Finance is embroiled in alleged gratification claims that surfaced after the Indonesian Millennial Activists Association filed a report with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), concerning the alleged gift of a Toyota Alphard to an official with the initials RLM from a private party.
When asked for confirmation, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa acknowledged that he already knows the identity of the Ministry of Finance official reported to the KPK in connection with the alleged case.
He also confirmed that he would promptly consult directly with the KPK regarding the matter.
“Oh yes, I already know. I’ll discuss it with the KPK to see what the situation is,” Purbaya said at the House of Representatives complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
He stressed that his side would first examine the facts of the alleged luxury vehicle gratification case involving the Ministry of Finance official objectively, whilst coordinating with the KPK.
“We will look at it from the relevant official’s perspective fairly, isn’t that right,” Purbaya said.
He even highlighted suspicions that certain parties had deliberately circulated the luxury vehicle gratification allegations. According to him, the information emerged amid plans to bring the official in question into the Ministry of Finance’s management ranks.
“There are certain circles that have deliberately circulated this, because it appears that I was going to bring that official into the Ministry of Finance’s management. But it seems some people disagree, so they started spreading such issues. But let’s see what the case actually looks like,” he said.
Previously, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said that the commission would follow up on every public report through a verification and analysis process before determining further steps.
“We ensure that every complaint will be followed up by verifying the validity of the information and data submitted,” he said.
