Coordinating Ministry Urges Regional Legal Policies to Align with National Development

The execution of duties in the regions must be directed towards supporting national development policy in an inclusive, integrated and aligned manner.

Samarinda (ANTARA) — The Coordinating Ministry for Legal Affairs, Human Rights, Immigration and Correctional Services has directed the implementation of legal policy in East Kalimantan to align with national development programmes during a working visit to Samarinda on Wednesday.

“The execution of duties in the regions must be directed towards supporting national development policy in an inclusive, integrated and aligned manner,” said R Andika Dwi Prasetya, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Legal Affairs, Human Rights, Immigration and Correctional Services, in Samarinda on Wednesday.

The directive was delivered during a working visit to the East Kalimantan Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, which focused on synchronising and coordinating the execution of duties by law enforcement agencies in the region.

Andika affirmed that strengthened coordination, aligned perceptions and sustained communication are needed so that every central government policy has a tangible impact in the regions.

“Therefore, strengthened coordination, aligned perceptions and sustained communication are essential so that every central government policy has a real impact,” he said.

Muhammad Ikmal Idrus, Head of the East Kalimantan Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, said the event served as momentum to strengthen synergy between the ministry and all working units in the region.

“This working visit is important momentum to strengthen synergy between the Coordinating Ministry and all regional working units,” he said.

Ikmal explained that East Kalimantan’s Legal Development Index score for the previous year reached 0.68, in the good category.

He added that the legal culture pillar contributed the highest score at 0.81, and it is hoped this can be maintained consistently.

Ikmal affirmed that the regional office would follow up on the directive through continuous improvement to raise the quality of legal development and equitable public services.

“The East Kalimantan Regional Office of the Ministry of Law is ready to collaborate optimally, strengthen service quality, and follow up on all assessment recommendations through measurable steps,” he said.
