Coordinating Ministry for People's Empowerment: Humanitarian Aspect is Integral to Empowerment Strategy
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Coordinating Ministry for People’s Empowerment (Kemenko PM) has emphasised that the humanitarian aspect is an integral part of the empowerment strategy carried out by the ministry.
Following the successful implementation of the Nusantara Snack Trail Festival (JJN) as the “1001 Nights Market” model some time ago in Jakarta, Kemenko PM is now holding the 1001 Nights Market on 11-13 March 2026 at the former Aceh Hotel field in Banda Aceh.
Deputy for the Coordination of Community Economic Empowerment and Migrant Worker Protection at Kemenko PM, Leontinus Alpha Edison, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that Aceh Province was chosen to prioritise humanitarian action and social solidarity.
For Kemenko PM, economic strengthening cannot be separated from care for others, particularly for communities facing difficult times following disasters.
“The 1001 Nights Market is not merely a centre for economic transactions, but a platform for humanitarian action,” said Leontinus.
In Aceh Province, the activity is designed with a strong Ramadan atmosphere, featuring culinary bazaars and handicraft exhibitions, as well as a young preachers talent stage to develop children’s potential.
There will be free health clinics providing basic medical examinations and the “Thriving SMEs Clinic”, collaborating with the Aceh Provincial Government and Banda Aceh City Government, to provide business legalisation assistance as part of comprehensive efforts to improve community quality of life inclusively.
“We want to create an experience that is not only visually appealing through the coffee truck concept and interactive talk shows, but also provides tangible benefits for community welfare and health,” explained Leontinus.
Through solid synergy between government, private sector, and community, he was confident that dignified economic independence could be achieved.
Within the series of 1001 Nights Market activities, Kemenko PM will also distribute ready-to-eat processed food to flood disaster survivors, hand over 103 temporary housing units (huntara) resulting from collaboration with Rumah Zakat, and distribute 1,000 Islamic texts for pesantren in North Aceh and Aceh Tamiang.
