Coordinating Ministry for Economics: Holiday Bonus Strengthens Platform-Partner Relations
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Economics has assessed that the bonus hari raya (holiday bonus) is capable of serving as an instrument that strengthens the partnership relationship between online transportation service platforms and their driver partners.
“This programme is expected to contribute to improving the welfare of driver partners whilst simultaneously strengthening the partnership relationship,” said Chairul Saleh, Assistant Deputy for Productivity Enhancement and Employment Ecosystem Development at the Ministry’s Economics Coordinating Division, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Chairul further stated that this initiative is aligned with the government’s efforts to create an adaptive and sustainable employment ecosystem.
He assessed that the holiday bonus represents a concrete example of a social relationship built on the basis of partnership between platforms and drivers.
“The spirit of this bonus is indeed to encourage growth, then appreciation and contribution for our partners,” he added.
Chairul stated that the presence of the online transportation sector not only facilitates public activities, but also opens access to flexible work opportunities for millions of people.
“In various regions, online transportation today has become an economic mainstay, creating inclusive employment opportunities and supporting small and medium enterprises as well as connectivity,” he said.
