Coordinating Minister Zulhas: SPPG Locations Swell by 6,877 Points
Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan has acknowledged that the number of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) points for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme has swelled by 6,877 locations from the initial plan of around 21,000 points. On this basis, the government needs to restructure the MBG programme within one month.
The initial plan was for 21,000 SPPG points, but now there are 27,877 points. There has been a swelling of 6,877 SPPG points, said Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly known, during the ‘Improving the Quality of MBG Services and Remote SPPG’ event held at the Coordinating Ministry for Food office in Jakarta on Thursday.
The 21,000 SPPG points were originally planned to be built in agglomeration areas. Therefore, according to Zulhas, the swelling number of SPPG points suggests there has been a practice of buying and selling SPPG points.
With each SPPG kitchen receiving an incentive worth Rp6 million per day, Zulhas calculated that the budget wastage for SPPG kitchen incentives is estimated at more than Rp1 trillion per month. “If there is wastage of Rp1 trillion per month, that means Rp12 trillion over a year,” Zulhas stated.
