Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Launches Perintis Berdaya Connect, Uniting Access for MSMEs and Creative Economy
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar launched Perintis Berdaya Connect (PBC) in Batu, East Java, on Wednesday (26/8/2026). PBC serves as a space connecting MSMEs, creative economy players, and cooperatives with various government services, business partners, and business development support.
“I very much hope that Perintis Berdaya Connect Batu will become a movement to transform the business ecosystem that supports the growth of economic actors in Batu and its surroundings. We are confident that with a good ecosystem, the Perintis Berdaya Connect Batu programme will make Batu superior compared to other cities across Indonesia,” said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin.
PBC Batu collaborates with the Integrated Business Service Centre for Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (PLUT KUMKM) Batu, Batu Creative Hub, the Batu Creative Economy Committee, and Rumah BUMN Malang. The collaboration is open to other partners according to local needs and potential.
The presence of PBC Batu is a development of the PBC model previously operating in Bandung. The concept can subsequently be applied in other regions to connect various economic empowerment services that are already available.
Deputy for Coordination of Community Economic Empowerment and Protection of Migrant Workers Leontinus Alpha Edison explained that PBC is not established by adding new facilities or programmes. The government connects and optimises existing services to make them more accessible to the public.
“The main philosophy of Perintis Berdaya Connect is not to add administrative burden with new programmes. On the contrary, we want to tidy up the bureaucratic labyrinth, simplify access, and integrate community business development services. With this approach, we want to shorten the distance between business actors and the various support they need, both for newly started businesses and those that are growing,” said Leontinus.
At the launch of PBC Batu, a number of services were provided to address the needs of business actors. One of them was a business certainty workshop discussing the final taxation scheme for MSMEs and cooperatives as well as an inventory of licensing obstacles related to BPOM and PIRT.
PBC Batu also serves as a meeting space between business actors and the market. A bazaar and culinary festival involved around 16 MSME booths fostered by Batu City and four MSME booths fostered by Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM).
In addition to business access, the public also received health services through free health checks with the Batu City Health Office. BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan also opened information services regarding health and employment social security.
With this concept, PBC becomes a meeting point for business actors to obtain information, services, networks, and access to various available resources. These services can be utilised by people who are just starting a business as well as business actors who want to develop their businesses.
The government considers that connecting various programmes and services can make economic empowerment support more accessible to the public. PBC Batu also serves as a collaboration space between the government, business actors, communities, and other partners according to regional needs.
The launch of PBC Batu is part of the development of Perintis Berdaya to expand public access to economic empowerment services. The model is expected to strengthen the relationship between regional potential, business actors, and the various support already available.
