Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Urges Garuda Contingent Task Force to Be More Disciplined and Train Hard

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari Chaniago has asked personnel of the Garuda Contingent Task Force (Satgas Konga) UNIFIL, who will carry out the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, to improve discipline and the quality of training. According to Djamari, these two elements are the main assets for the soldiers in surviving and succeeding in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. “Hard training is a form of welfare provided to the soldiers,” Djamari said in an official press release from the Coordinating Ministry for Politics and Security received in Jakarta on Tuesday. This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security while leading the Coordination Meeting for Peacekeeping Missions and giving directions to the Satgas Konga troops in Sentul, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (11/5). The official press release explained that the Satgas Konga soldiers will be deployed to Lebanon at the end of May 2026. Djamari reminded the soldiers not to stop training and to increase readiness before the departure day arrives. With hard training, he believes the soldiers’ mentality will be formed so that the spirit to succeed in the peacekeeping mission will be even stronger. A strong mentality, Djamari continued, will also shape the soldiers’ attitude to be more disciplined. Thus, the soldiers will also be more disciplined in implementing security and safety standards during peacekeeping duties. The Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security added that discipline in applying security standards is very important for soldiers to do, considering that the conflict in the Middle East is currently heating up and its escalation is felt as far as Lebanon. “With hard training and discipline, our soldiers can carry out their duties well. When duties are carried out well, that is where pride, honour, promotion, and appreciation from the nation emerge,” he said. He hopes that the hard training and disciplined attitude of the TNI soldiers can save the lives of all soldiers while succeeding in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. “Never be negligent. Non-compliance not only impacts safety but also the good name of the nation. That burden is on your shoulders,” he emphasised.
