Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Ensures Smooth Education at Pontianak Integrated People's School
Pontianak (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security (Menko Polkam) Djamari Chaniago ensured the smooth running of the educational process at Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi (SRT) 53 in Pontianak through a direct inspection of facilities and teaching activities at the school.
“This visit is to ensure that all educational facilities, from learning resources and dormitories to students’ basic needs, are functioning well, as all funding comes from the state as a form of government presence,” he said during the inspection of the People’s School in Pontianak on Thursday.
During his meeting with all the students there, he reminded the children to make the most of the valuable opportunity at the school and to study diligently to achieve success.
“The school is funded by the state, from the people and taxes, so that you can succeed. From clothing and food to teaching staff, everything is provided,” said Djamari in front of the students.
“Make the most of this opportunity. Treat the dormitory supervisors as your own parents. Do not hesitate to voice your complaints. Do not neglect worship, and set your aspirations as high as the sky,” he said.
According to him, the existence of the People’s School is part of the state’s efforts to expand access to education, especially for children from low-income families, so the smooth running of the learning process must be continuously maintained and supported by all parties.
Meanwhile, West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan stated that the presence of the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security at the People’s School serves as important encouragement for the regional government to continue ensuring optimal quality of educational services.
She emphasised that the People’s School Programme plays a strategic role in providing equitable access to education and is one of the instruments in breaking the chain of poverty.
“This People’s School is an important instrument in breaking the chain of poverty. We want to ensure that every child has an equal opportunity for success,” said Ria Norsan.
She added that the West Kalimantan Provincial Government is committed to strengthening synergy with the central government in improving education quality, including providing supporting facilities for students.
During the visit, the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security along with his entourage also handed over symbolic assistance in the form of sports equipment and learning support facilities as well as extracurricular activities.
“This assistance is expected to support the smooth running of the educational process as well as the development of students’ potential, both in academic and non-academic fields,” said Ria Norsan.
