The government is strengthening preparedness to face potential forest and land fires (karhutla) in 2026 as forecasts indicate the coming dry season will be drier than in the previous year, on Thursday, 5 March. Anticipatory measures include increasing equipment for handling forest fires and strengthening the capacity of field personnel.
