Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago has urged stronger communication among leaders and between institutions to maintain unity in carrying out their duties for the benefit of the nation and state.

According to Djamari, strong relationships can facilitate coordination, synchronisation and the resolution of various shared problems.

“There is no problem that cannot be solved if we have strong relationships and communication. Together, any problem can certainly be resolved,” said Djamari in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The Menko Polkam made the remarks while delivering a speech at a gathering with the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Chief of the National Police, the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Attorney General, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force at the Navy Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/8).

According to Djamari, the gathering should serve as a momentum to build more open and fluid communication, so that barriers and obstacles arising from overly formal relationships can be minimised.

With improved communication, coordination and cooperation between institutions are expected to grow stronger in facing various challenges.

“Hopefully this practice can serve as an example for units as well as other ministries and institutions to strengthen communication and unity,” he said.

According to Agus, the gathering of leaders is an important momentum to further strengthen the synergy and coordination that have been established so far, particularly in maintaining national political and security stability.

“This is an excellent momentum to strengthen synergy and unite our steps in facing various challenges ahead,” said Agus.

Also present to accompany the Menko Polkam at the event were Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Wamenko Polkam) Lieutenant General (Ret.) Lodewijk F. Paulus, deputies, and special staff of the Menko Polkam.
