Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Ensures Corruption Case Handling is Professional and Transparent
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago has expressed his support for the law enforcement process and ensured that every case is handled professionally, independently, transparently, and in accordance with the law. This statement follows reports that the Corruption Eradication Task Force of the National Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police conducted searches at several locations, including the residence of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, in Sentul, Bogor, on Wednesday (9/7).
“What we continue to safeguard is synergy and coordination between institutions. Communication must be continuously built to prevent potential misunderstandings. Fundamentally, the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and other law enforcement institutions share the same goal, which is to uphold justice, including in eradicating corruption. Each institution has duties and authorities regulated by law. Therefore, synergy and coordination must be continuously strengthened so that this common goal can be achieved more effectively,” stressed the Coordinating Minister.
The Coordinating Minister also urged the public to remain calm and not be easily influenced by speculation or narrative constructions. “The public should remain calm and not be provoked by various baseless narrative constructions. Fully trust the law enforcement officers who are currently working in accordance with statutory regulations,” he said.
Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister emphasised that the legal process must proceed independently without pressure or intervention from any party. The government, he said, respects the applicable legal mechanisms and believes that all law enforcement officers share the same commitment to upholding justice.
Amidst increasing public attention on various alleged corruption cases, the Coordinating Minister stated that the high number of cases uncovered does not necessarily indicate that corruption is on the rise, but rather demonstrates the state’s strengthening commitment to cleaning up corrupt practices. “Corruption has indeed long been a challenge for the nation. The government under the leadership of President Prabowo has a strong commitment to carrying out comprehensive reforms. There is no room for anyone proven to have violated the law. Regardless of their institutional origin or position, every violation will be processed and acted upon firmly in accordance with the applicable legal provisions,” he asserted.
The Coordinating Minister invited the public to support the anti-corruption agenda as part of efforts to strengthen clean and high-integrity governance. The public is also expected to continue upholding the principle of presumption of innocence and not to disseminate unverified information. The Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs ensures that all ministries and agencies under its coordination will continue to strengthen synergy, coordination, and collaboration to support professional law enforcement, maintain national political and security stability, and provide legal certainty and a sense of justice for the community.
