Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Ensures Corruption Case Enforcement is Professional and Transparent: Trust Law Enforcement Officers!
Jakarta, VIVA – Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) General TNI (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago has affirmed that the government fully supports and oversees the ongoing law enforcement process.
The government is ensuring that every case, including corruption cases, will be handled professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
Djamari reminded all law enforcement agencies to continue prioritising professionalism, strengthening coordination, and placing the nation’s interests above those of their respective institutions.
“There is no need for tensions to escalate. The National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and all law enforcement elements share the same goal: upholding the law and eradicating corruption. Each institution has its own authority that must be respected,” the Coordinating Minister asserted on Friday, 10 July 2026.
The government also called on the public to remain calm and not be easily swayed by speculation or narratives that could spark unrest amid the ongoing legal process.
“The public need not worry or be provoked by the various opinions circulating. Place your full trust in the law enforcement agencies that are currently working in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.”
According to Djamari, the law enforcement process must be given room to proceed independently, professionally, and transparently, free from pressure or interference from any party.
He also urged the public to respond proportionally to the growing public attention on various alleged corruption cases.
The increasing number of cases being uncovered, he said, does not mean that corrupt practices are spreading, but rather demonstrates the government’s strengthening commitment to eradicating corruption.
“Corruption has long been a challenge for this nation. What sets the present apart is the government’s commitment to comprehensive reform. There is no room for anyone proven to have violated the law, regardless of their institution or position.”
Djamari reminded the public not to pit one law enforcement institution against another. According to him, all state apparatus are part of a mutually reinforcing legal system working towards a clean and integrous government.
“The government invites all members of the public to support the clean-up efforts across all state institutions. Let us monitor the legal process objectively, respect the presumption of innocence, and avoid spreading unverified information.”
