Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure: Tanjung Anom Fishing Area to be Equipped with Ice Factory
Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (Menko IPK) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) stated that the fishing village area in Tanjung Anom Village, Tangerang Regency, Banten, will be equipped with an ice factory to improve the quality of fishermen’s marine catches.
“We also want to ensure there is an ice factory. Earlier, Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Didit Herdiawan explained that the ice factory specifically uses slurry ice, utilising saltwater. This means it is better because the marine catch comes from saltwater,” said AHY in Tangerang Regency on Thursday.
According to him, if the ice factory uses saltwater, the marine catch will be more durable and of better quality, making it ready to be marketed in various places, including traditional markets and more modern ones.
In addition, the development of the fishing settlement area in Tanjung Anom Village will in the future be strengthened with a dock, an abrasion-retaining embankment, a breakwater, a boat mooring area, a fuel station, and a fishermen’s workshop.
“So, the community in Tanjung Anom, hopefully through collaboration between the government and NGOs (non-governmental organisations), with all sectors of society, to improve the welfare of our fishermen, can be strengthened over time,” he said.
For information, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development or IPK Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed that the fishing village development programme in Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, Banten, helps increase the productivity and income of fishermen in the area.
He stated that this strategic Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih development programme has successfully been realised through collaboration between relevant parties. The fishing area, which was previously unstructured, has now become a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful settlement.
