Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Pratiklo, received a courtesy visit from the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yousef Abdullah Al-Benyan, and his delegation at the Coordinating Ministry Office in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Pratikno stated that the meeting serves as a strategic step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia within the field of human development.

“This visit is an expression of the close friendship between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Through existing cooperation frameworks, we continue to strengthen our commitment to advancing human development and culture, in synergy and harmony,” said Pratikno.

Within the framework of the Coordinating Ministry, the Menko PMK plays a vital role as the Chair of the Social and Cultural Committee, orchestrating various cross-ministerial cooperation initiatives.

The Minister also emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange in areas coordinated by the Ministry, ranging from family and education to health, national character, and disaster management.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Minister of Education, Yousef Abdullah Al-Benyan, expressed appreciation for the Indonesian Government’s reaffirmed commitment to strengthening constructive cooperation in education, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

Minister Yousef emphasised that competence and character are the foundations of educational policy in Saudi Arabia, which aligns with the spirit of education in Indonesia.

During this strategic meeting, both parties agreed to strengthen concrete cooperation, such as scholarships, Research and Development (R&D), and the utilisation of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector.

As a follow-up, both sides agreed to hold strategic workshops to refine the implementation of this cooperation in the near future.

The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture will continue to coordinate with relevant Ministries and Agencies to ensure that every agreement reached can be followed up concretely and optimally.

Representing Saudi Arabia were also the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi, Director General of International Cooperation Latufah Alfiryan, Director General of International Organisations Ibrahim Azizi, and Director of Administrative Affairs Nasser Alothman.
