He explained that the government is continuously ensuring that transportation facilities and infrastructure are in prime condition, from national roads and toll roads to arterial roads. “The most important thing is safety. We want to ensure that the public can undertake their mudik journeys safely, protecting themselves, their families, and other road users,” said AHY in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. The readiness of land, sea, air, and rail transportation modes is also being closely monitored so that the public can travel for mudik safely, smoothly, and comfortably. He stated that this policy is expected to make travel costs more affordable while encouraging economic movement in various regions. The government is also preparing various operational supports on the ground. One of them is through emergency response units from the Ministry of Public Works equipped with heavy equipment and materials to anticipate potential disruptions on mudik routes. AHY emphasised the importance of cross-ministerial and institutional coordination in managing mudik traffic flow.
