Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Emphasises Collaboration to Boost Area-Based MSME Empowerment
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, emphasised cross-ministerial collaboration in driving community economic empowerment through micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and area-based creative economy initiatives.
βThe government ensures that MSMEs and the creative economy become an integral part of national priority work programmes. We want every state programme to deliver a tangible domino effect for small business actors and vulnerable communities,β said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar while chairing the Ministerial-Level Meeting (RTM) at M Bloc Space in Jakarta on Monday.
The meeting discussed the concrete contributions of the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in supporting the National Priority Work Programme (PKPN), as well as developments from previous RTM themes related to accelerating poverty alleviation in line with Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025.
Additionally, the development of the Pasar 1001 Malam programme was discussed as a model for area-based creative economy empowerment.
Coordinating Minister Muhaimin affirmed that MSMEs and the creative economy are key sectors in helping communities escape poverty through a sustainable empowerment approach.
He emphasised the importance of building a competitive, inclusive, and affordable business ecosystem, particularly for middle and vulnerable community groups.
In the meeting, the three ministers also highlighted the success of the Blok M area as a real example of MSME and creative economy ecosystem development.
This area has been assessed as successfully transforming into a centre for community-based economic activities, supported by transportation connectivity, creative spaces, and dynamic event agendas.
The selection of the meeting location in the Blok M area also forms part of an evidence-based policy approach, where policies are formulated based on best practices in the field.
Visits and informal dialogues were also conducted with several tenants to gather input from MSME and creative economy actors.
